IMPACT - ESG report 2025
Give Steel’s ESG report for 2025 documents a year of significant progress in sustainability efforts. The requirements of the industry are changing rapidly. Today, our customers and partners expect more than just a strong product. ESG is therefore part of our strategy, and the ESG report is a natural extension of this.
In the report, we explore the four key themes of Give Steel’s sustainability strategy: CO₂ reduction, risk management, transparency through improved data, and sustainable development.
EU Taxonomy Screening
Give Steel contributes with the necessary ESG documentation that our customers need when construction projects are screened for EU taxonomy.
The EU taxonomy aims to ensure that financial flows in the EU are sustainable. The EU taxonomy is a classification system that determines the conditions under which an economic activity can be said to be sustainable.
This includes compliance with minimum social guarantees for human and labour rights, tax conditions and fair competition.
ESG at the level of compliance
CSRD, CSDDD, Taxonomy – a tsunami of new ESG reporting requirements is impacting the largest companies.
With 600 employees, Give Steel is not currently required to submit CSRD reporting. It is still our task, however, to provide the ESG documentation that our customers need so that we can document that we are a responsible company. A high degree of ESG therefore continues to be an important priority at our company, even though we are not required to report according to the EU Omnibus proposal.
CSRD / ESRS
Although the EU Commission’s Omnibus proposal means that Give Steel is no longer required to satisfy reporting requirements, we will continue to maintain a high level of ESG where it makes sense for us and our customers.
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) concerns company level sustainability reporting that encompasses economic, environmental and social sustainability throughout the company’s entire value chain.
Large companies must comply with the reporting directive through compliance with the corresponding European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) establish a completely new framework for companies’ sustainability reporting. Reporting requirements currently use more than 1,000 data points, which are divided into general reporting requirements and company-specific requirements.
