How can Give Steel support your project's DGNB certification?

Give Steel can provide the documentation you need to support your project’s DGNB certification process.

Our DGNB point overviews give contractors, consultants and project owners a clear overview of the DGNB criteria that Give Steel’s steel supply and supporting documentation can help meet.

Select the points overview that matches the DGNB system version of your project.

Find the relevant DGNB points overview

These points overviews provide a comprehensive overview of the DGNB criteria that are supported by Give Steel’s supply and documentation. They also specify the documentation we can provide and whether our contribution is documented independently or in conjunction with the project’s other documentation.

Important! The points overviews illustrate Give Steel’s potential contribution to selected DGNB criteria. DGNB points are awarded to the construction project as a whole, not to Give Steel’s steel structures as a standalone product. Final assessment will depend on factors such as the project’s design, delivery scope, chosen solutions, overall documentation, and the DGNB system version applied.

Process quality

Environmental quality

Technical quality

  • Fireproofing/fire safety

  • Reusability and recycling potential

From points overview to project documentation

The point overviews have been developed as a practical tool for contractors, project owners and consultants.  They can be used at an early stage of a project to identify how the steel supplied can contribute and what documentation is required.

1. Find the project’s DGNB system version

Clarify whether the project follows DGNB 2023, DGNB 2025, or another relevant system version. Then select the corresponding points overview.

2. Identify relevant criteria

Find the criteria that are of relevance to the appropriate steel supply and the project’s DGNB objectives.

3. Clarify documentation requirements early

Look into what Give Steel can provide and what needs to be documentation agreed on a project-specific basis. Some documentation and delivery choices need to be clarified before production commences.

4. Engage in a dialogue with Give Steel

Contact us to discuss the scope of supply, the relevant criteria and the documentation required for the project.

Documentation of Give Steel’s social contribution to the project

The Social Partnership Agreement describes how Give Steel’s apprentices and social recruitments can be attributed to the specific steel supply.

The agreement may also include a model-based calculation of the supply’s share of selected economic impacts on public finances. Calculations use the GROW Social Sustainability Calculator and are based on the calculator’s methodology, data basis, and assumptions.

If the Social Partnership Agreement is to be applied to the specific DGNB project, this must be agreed and initiated before production commences.

What is DGNB?

DGNB is a certification scheme for buildings and urban areas. The system evaluates the entire project according to various criteria, including environmental, economic, social, technical, and process quality.

The certification is for the construction project in its entirety. Steel structures, materials, and other stand-alone deliveries cannot be given individual DGNB certification. They can, however, be applied to the assessment on the basis of their properties and the associated documentation.
